Dusten Melear
holds a Bachelors degree in Church Music from Houston Baptist University where he studied voice with Robin Roewe and conducting under Dr. John Yarrington. He was home schooled through high school with his two younger sisters and younger brother. Dusten was a member of Joyful Sound for six years and was the assistant director for three years; directing several ensembles and assisting with the musical rehearsals of the high school choir. He has been actively involved in the music department of his church from a very youg age. Currently, Dusten is serving as music minister at Trinity Baptist Church in Katy. He plans to continue his education with a Masters in choral conducting.
Ning Gelok
graduated from Rice University in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performing under the tutelage of renowned violinist, Sergiu Luca. Born in Singapore, Ning has been invited to play in several prestigious concerts including a dinner recital at the Command House for former President Ong Teng Cheong. Upon her graduation, Ning continued to be an active orchestral and chamber musician. She moved to the United States permanently in 2005 and since then, has been part of a saxophone trio with her husband Dan in several recitals. Ning is currently a full time mother, a freelance performer and a part time violin and piano instructor.
Dan Gelok
completed his Master's degree in saxophone performance in 2006 at the
University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he also worked as a Teaching
Assistant to Professor of Saxophone Lynn Klock. In 2004, he received
his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Indiana University, where
he studied with Professor Otis Murphy. He has been featured in
solo, duet, and quartet performances at the New England Saxophone
Symposium, the North American Saxophone Alliance regional and
national conferences, and Cape Cod's Falmouth Academy. He has also
given recitals in Hackettstown, NJ and Singapore's Nanyang Academy of
Fine Arts, where he was a featured artist in the Commuter Concert
Series. As an educator, Mr. Gelok also maintains a private studio of
over 60 private students ranging in experience from beginner to the
collegiate level.
